Are these not the same Kashmiris who resisted building of better facilities for Amarnath pilgrims ?
Why has no one commented when Ahsan Dar issued a threat very recently to Kashmiri Hindus ?
Why has no Kashmiri demanded trial against Bitta Karate and Yasin Malik who are known killers of Kashmiri Hindus ?
It is one thing to preach but what is effective if the the things are seen on ground.
It was 1988 when i was 7 years old… I didnt know anything about Hindu Muslim India Pakistan .. All i knew was that i had a friend Shauqat with whom i used a play cricket.. It was an India Pak match which india lost one evening … Next day, i went with my brother to buy a loaf of bread , the shopkeeper in jawahar nagar said something which i can never forget … He said with a beaming smile , “See you indians lost.. ” .. I could not understand what he meant because i was told we are all indians …
That was just one incident which underlines the real emotions of Kashmiri Muslims .. They have never thought of themselves as Indians .. And all this agitation is just an excuse to re kindle the tired and lost flame …
Why?
Honorable Supreme Court of India gave a verdict to hang Afzal Guru who was prime accused in 2001 Parliament attack. He was supposed to be hanged in Oct 2006. But ironically some so called “social activists” (I rather call them anti-social elements) like Arundhati Roy along with all kashmiri politicians like Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Ghulam Nabi Azad demanded clemency for Afzal Guru, a terrorist who attacked Indian parliament. He is still not hanged. Point to note here is these Kashmiri politicans still give “martyr” status to people like Maqbool Bhat (another kashmiri terrorist who was engaged in Indian plane hijacking and Indian diplomat murder in shootout in London and was hanged by Indian Government in 80s) and Afzal Guru. Farookh Abdullah of (Anti)National Conference crossed all limits and went to the extent of saying “India would go up in flames” if Afzal is hanged. This exposes the biggest hypocrisy of Kashmiri politicians. Afzal is still not hanged. This whole episode sends wrong signals to terrorists and encourages them. It makes them start thinking they can get away even after attacking Indian parliament!!

Mr Gautam – Where were you in 1990 when the mosques of the valley were blaring slogans threatening the Kashmiri Pandits of the valley…with slogans like..

The lies, intrigue, manipulations and double speak has been the hall mark of what defines the Abdullah family’s politics. All members of the family right from their patriarch Sheikh Abdullah to Omar including his father Farooq have constantly displayed chameleonic character by brazenly doing a volta face as per their convenience. Thus we find the family’s political history laced with shameless contradictions and which continue even now. The family has a history of saying one thing in Delhi and then stating the opposite in Kashmir. Omar Abdullah is playing to the fundamentalist constituency in Kashmir and myopic media is turning a blind eye to that.
Now take the case of Umar Abdullah of NC. What did he mean when he so blatantly said these lines in the parliament “yeh zameen humari hai”. Did he mean that the land of Kashmir belongs to his family, or did he mean that the land of Kashmir belongs to only Kashmiri people or did he mean that the land belonged to the entire India. If he meant that the land belonged to only the Kashmiri people then doesn’t he explicitly say that Kashmir does not belong to India. Doesn’t he mean that India in no way should interfare in their matters ? What sort of democracy/secularism is this ? Should we tolerate all this ? Also if he means that the land of Kashmir belongs to the entire India (which I believe is not at all what he meant), then why is all this hue and cry made of. Let the govt decide how the land should be used. Why is he so annoyed by the order of temporarily transfering the land to the Amarnath Shrine board.
